“Das Licht” by Josef Thorak (1889-1952), a German-Austrian sculptor.
Thorak became well-known for his monumental sculptures created under supervision od the Third Reich, who named him one of their chief sculptors. The Denazification process cleared his name and he subsequently established himself in Austria, mainly Salzburg. This sculpture was allegedly bought by Bad Gastein for a symbolic 1€ back in 2009/2010 and placed for public consumption on the back terrace of the historic Kraftwerk building.
